TRAINING REFERENCES FOR THE COMPASS TRAVERSE CONTEST


In addition to the information on compass and pacing in the Forestry Judging Contest Manual, here are some additional references that may be helpful in training for the compass traverse contest.  Keep in mind that magnetic declination is not considered in the Compass Traverse contest, so your compass declination should be set to zero degrees (0°).  You may want to read about magnetic declination in the information below.
